Three Types Of Mobile Truck Repair That Will Come To You
ShareRepairing a vehicle while it is stuck on the side of the road is really not that new of a concept. Repairing something other than a flat tire, however, is rather new. Here are three services you can get now to repair problems with your commercial truck on the side of the road.
Windshield Repair
Commercial trucks as well as passenger vehicles can get their windshields repaired and replaced on the side of the road. Wherever the vehicle is sitting, the auto glass technician can bring the new windshield or repair kit to you (or your driver) and fix the problem right there. Usually within a half hour or so, the job is complete and you (or the driver) are able to go about your business. Most auto glass places that provide this service do charge for a "service call," but it beats trying to drive into the repair shop with a dangerous and cracked or smashed windshield.
Brake Repair
If you, or any of your fleet drivers, notice that the brakes on a truck are not working properly, there is a mobile truck repair service for this too. Most vehicles (except heavy duty construction vehicles) can be jacked up and put on blocks just about anywhere, giving a technician full access to the brakes behind the wheels and under the vehicles. Some commercial trucks make it really easy and provide access to the brakes just by removing the tires. Either way, you can put in a service call for this type of repair and have your brakes done in about two hours, from the time the call is made and the technician arrives until the brakes are replaced. (Hopefully, in the future you will check the brakes on all vehicles before they head out of the company garage for the day.)
Battery Replacements
Commercial trucks go through batteries like Godzilla through Tokyo. When it is especially cold out, the battery issue often gets worse. You could try service calls for a jump start, but if that does not work you will still need to call a mobile truck repair service that offers battery replacement service. In fact, most services that offer a full battery replacement service (regardless of where you are) can also provide a jump start and/or battery charge check. Then you know for sure that the battery is dead and useless and needs to be replaced before you replace it.
