4. The Car Needs to Last: For resale purposes and the fact that you probably want to keep your car around for a long time to come, you want to have the undercoating applied. This is going to prevent the bottom of the car from rusting and disintegrating, which is important to keep the car in drivable conditions. If the car is becoming older, undercoating is only going to help it last that much longer. Consider having the under carriage inspected at least once a year for the presence of possible scratches that need to be protected.
